...that would be pretty much what I just said. That's also why some people choose to use the term shim if the gender is unknown.

Well, I'm a lady. Not really, but I have the right set for BEING a lady. My mom says I argue too much to be a lady. Somehow, I don't believe her, because FERGIE says that she's a 'lady'. I think being a lady is overrated.

Welcome, Mary!

Just a quick and helpful reminder-- DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!! We have a real nasty infestation, and they like to increase in number every once in a while. Basically just ignore them whenever possible and remember: You are better than them. (Also: if someone says something nasty on the boards directed at you, try to take it as their sense of sarcasm. That's how I remain tearless when I go to sleep at night )

Nice to meet you!

Ah, the children's books. I couldn't find one I was looking for a few years ago... It's about a farmer who hates his rooster and considers killing it but then a fox eats it and the farmer is left in a bug question: Should he feel sorry that the rooster got eaten or should he be happy now that he can sleep?

I wanted to look at it, but again, I couldn't find it.

I've been lurking around here for quite some time now, and introducing myself is way overdue.

My name is Diana (even though I much prefer going by Layni), I'm 20 years old and I'm from a rather small Bavarian town in Germany.
Since January I live in London, working as an au pair, and I'm seriously enjoying myself here.

I'm very much into reading (naturally), I love listening to music and I play the piano. I also like photography.

Recently my favourite hobby is re-watching episodes of Sailor Moon, and there are only 180 more to go... out of 200!

You are my new favorite person. Call me every five minutes. No, every three.

PS-The ending is satisfying, although most of the last season is blah.

Awesome!

I find the first twenty episodes a bit annoying to watch, I don't know, but then it's finally starting to get interesting.
I love how with every episode bits and pieces of childhood memory come back, because the first thing I used to do after school when I was kid: watching Sailor Moon!

I guess it's just a matter of practice. German grammar can be so tricky!

there is a new member called "wicked_obbsession" who popped up right after wicked_fan left. im not accusing anyone of anything, just thought i would point it out. WO's attitude is so far opposite from WF's that it makes me suspicious. otherwise, welcome to the boards WO and i hope you enjoy it here.

I live in the south of Bavaria, close to Ingolstadt, which is near Munich.

I figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself...

Hi, my name is Elizabeth (but that's a boring name-I much prefer Aerecura), and I live on the East Coast of the U.S. I've been a Wicked fan for roughly a year now, and I just saw the musical two weeks ago (it was fantastic!). I'm fourteen, and among other things, I like to play relatively unknown woodwind instruments, listen to Broadway music, listen to symphonic metal, read, write poetry, short stories, and occasionally fanfiction, and sing.

I think that's it.

What sorts of relatively unknown woodwind instruments do you play?

Hello Nessaheart, it's lovely to meet you

I play the sopranino, soprano, alto, and tenor recorders and the Irish whistle, and I'm messing around on a Native-American wooden flute, but I can't really actually get out a string of more than five notes right now. Strange instruments, I know, but I love them.

That's very neat. I played bass recorder in a madrigal recorder quartet for a while, it was very fun. I haven't played since then, and unfortunately don't own my own. When you say native american flute, do you mean recorder style, or held like your run of the mill metal flute?

I personally play the double reeds, mostly oboe and english horn but I've had some experience on bassoon and baroque oboe. Not to mention a few other lesser known members of the double reed family. I hope to some day have a musette (soprano oboe) which is generally in F. I also consider myself a clarinetist and flautist, though not as much as my double reeds. I especially enjoy my Eb clarinet, and I just recently purchases a beautiful new solid grenadilla piccolo! It is beautiful with a bubble headjoint to match my flutes wooden headjoint.

That's amazing that you play so many instruments! I only started studying music four years ago, when I was ten, so I haven't had the opportunity to learn all that many instruments yet. This summer I'm going to be taught the regular metal flute. I would teach it to myself, but I'm so used to the recorder embouchure that I can't get my mouth in the right position for the flute (hence my difficulty with the Native American flute).

Oh, and yes, the Native American flute is held like a regular metal flute.

It is indeed. You've both blown me out of the water... I play piano (not a wind instrument, but still an instrument!), and oboe, and English horn if it's needed, though I'm not the best and I don't own one. And I did play recorder from third to fifth grade- it was required- though my skill level hasn't progressed much past that of a third-to-fifth grader.

Hi all!

My name's Michelle, I'm 21 and from Tasmania, Australia. I've just finished reading Wicked and before that, Confessions (I'm trying to get my hands on Son of a Witch now!). What fantastic books! I enjoy reading anything that makes me think, and Wicked certainly did that.

Looking forward to meeting you all and joining in the discussions so I can start getting my head around these books. (Someone tell me who Yackle is and what she represents and I can die happily)!

I'm David. I read _Wicked_ about a year ago or so and was abso-freaking-lutely blown away!. The book gave me an interest in (first) the movie, which I had not seen in over 20 years (and upon doing so after reading W, was sorely dissapointed. Second, I began to read some of the original books by L. Frank, and, although certainly meant for a (much) younger demographic, I must say I enjoyed these very much as well.

Otherwise, I'm a resident physician, I'm married and have a 22-month-old daughter who makes me realize what life is all about, my wife and I are happily married. I enjoy reading Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. I'm currently reading some of the Jack Ryan novels by Clancy.

Nice tameetcha. OUT

Welcome Lucy and David!

I love how we have such a large age range of people who enjoy Wicked so much on the boards now. Everyone gets along very well as far as I can tell and we haven't had any major problems(spam), just a few minor ones (trolls, threads imploding)recently.
