Hey, I'm Allison. I'm entering 11th grade in September and I'm from Buffalo, NY. I finished reading Wicked about three weeks ago, then saw the musical twice in the past two weeks. I'm hooked, and completely looking forward to learning and discussing with all of you.

Hello Fellow Ozians and the such. I'm Kirby in Oklahoma City. I came across this forum a couple of days ago and have really enjoyed reading it. So I have decided to join. I have ready all of GM's books over the past 6 years. Starting first with Wicked. What an extroidenary story! I just reread it followed by Son of a Witch. In the past ten days.
I am 40 and have 3 teenage sons. My partner and I have been together now for 5 and a half years.
I am really looking forward to discussing these books with people who have read them and get them. (I know of a few who just could not suspend their concept of Oz from the movie) Except for Lost. Which Lost me altogether.
So agian Hello. And off I go.

You're going to have to share some other titles of books you enjoyed with me, because I'm definitely huge into fantasy books as well.

And welcome to all the new peoples. That's 3 in one day!

Hi everyone I guess I'm a newbie on here too. I thought I may as well stumble on over and introduce myself.

I've been lurking her for a couple of weeks and decided to jump on today. I hope you all don't mind.

My name is Cecily and I'm fourteen years old. I'm vastly into reading and have read more books than I ever dare or care to count. If anyone has any reading suggestions for me, please make them. If I haven't read it I'm sure I'd like to.

I read Lost the first time a few years ago on a road trip from home (east coast somewhere) to visit relatives in Seattle. Though I admit it was slow to start I didn't have anything else to do and I loved it in hindsight. Since then I've read Confessions, Wicked, and most of Son (I will probably finish it tonight). I've held off on reading Son because I heard it wasn't as good as Wicked though now that I'm into it I don't agree.

The Bartimaeus Trilogy is definitely worth picking up, I read it compliments of my brothers, the same with Soul Music and the David Eddings Series. I actually really enjoyed his first two series... he has written 5 but the others have the same basic storylines. The Belgariad and its continuing story the Mallorean are great books. I felt like Eddings did an amazing job with them. He creates an entire world and actually has the entire history of the world written in other side stories.

Another book that I definitely suggest if you haven't yet picked it up is the Princess Bride by William Goldman. And if you seen the movie yes "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die" is in there lol.

Theres also Piers Anthony which my brother recommends and the Redwall books by Brian Jacques. They may be about animals lol but they've got great themes and stories.

And one last series I've sorta picked up on is the Fablehaven books by Brandon Mull... they aren't too disappointing either.

Well then! I'm just going to have to take the advice of you and your brother seeing how I've read and loved the Princess Bride and I've read and loved a number of books in the Redwall series. I've recommended those on here often as well. My boyfriend owns all of the Redwall books but I've only read Redwall, Mossflower, Martin of Redwall, and Mattimeo. I need to get around to reading the rest of them.

But now I'm certain I'm going to get the Bartimaeus Trilogy and will look into the other authors as well.

Obviously my favorties include other fantasy books. Harry Potter is a given, and I recently just finished the His Dark Materials Trilogy. Big fan. And though I have the Lord of the Rings books, I haven't been able to get into them yet. I don't think I've given myself enough time to get into them yet, but I also think I have a hard time because there's soooo much genealogy and history, and it's not as entertaining to me as something the likes of Harry Potter. I don't think I've given them a fair enough chance yet, but I always have so many other books I want to read that I just haven't gotten around to them. I want to be sure to give them my complete 100% attention.

Tip about reading Lord of the Rings... try skipping the first 100 pages of the Fellowship of the Ring... its all about the history of the characters (as you may have noticed lol). After the first 100 pages you really get into the story. And if you also haven't you should read the Hobbit too. My dad would always read me both, and of course with his "Gandalf" voice <333 and when we started reading Harry Potter together he used that voice for Dumbledore too

I've only read the first Redwall book though I would quite like to read the others.

The Princess Bride is a long time favorite of mine.

Piers Anthony (sp?) has always been one of those authors I've liked but I can only really read his books one at a time. Lol.

As for LOTR, well I've read them all a couple of times and never liked them. I do plan to give them another shot though.

I know I'm kinda jumping in on your conversation guys, but I plan to read most of those books that were mentioned. (The ones I haven't read yet.)

That book confused me. And then it made me angry at William Goldman for confusing me. I do like it, though.

There's another S. Morgenstern book out there too, if anyone's interested- or rather "By William Goldman, as told by S. Morgernstern" or something like that. It's called The Silent Gondoliers.

And I'm rather proud and slightly ashamed to say that I own most of the Redwall books and have read most of the ones I don't have. I liked them a lot, for a while. They get repetitive.

Hi. I'm new here. I'm here because I love Wicked. I've seen it in LA twice. A third trip is occurring on August 7. I read the book too. I started it at 2:30 AM. I finished it by Eight that night.

I do have a major obsession with Wicked. I am so obsessed that I even bought the German soundtrack.

About me: I'm 17 and live in CA. And I'm a guy.

So here I am, with my wonderful obsession. Hi everybody!
