With this name I've been here since Dec. 21, 2006. Our boards had melt down just before then and I couldn't log onto my old name. That profile doesn't even tell me when I signed up with that account. I'm fairly certain I've been here since 2005 though. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Oh wow, I remember most of you! Its great to be back! Its kind of crazy because so much has changed since (for me) the 8th grade, but so many people are still here. I love that. =) Does anybody remember Elphabas Bitch? Ah good times... [This message has been edited by Munchkinland (edited 12-30-2007).] IP: Logged |

Munchkinman- before you've stated that you are only 9 years old... I doubted that at the time but had no real reason to back up that thought.. but now.. if you're only 9 years old then why do you need to go on a diet?! Admittedly some younger kids should be stopped from eating a lot of the bad stuff they do- but a kid that young shouldn't be worrying about that sort of thing really... their parents should be perhaps. I don't know. I'm concerned either way- either you lied about your age or you're concerned about body image at a very young age. ------------------ IP: Logged |

this concerns me too. if you are actually 9 years old and concerned about your weight, then i think we need to have a talk. and if you ,lied about your age, then we need the truth. anyway, HAPPY 2008 EVERYONE!! How did everyone spend thier New Years Eve? And did you enjoy yourselves? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Happy New Year everyone! Munchkinman, if you are actually 9 or 10 years old then you need to stop the whole diet thing right now. I've been encouraged (by my mum) since I was 10/11 to watch what I eat, and I'm beginning to think that if she hadn't done that I wouldn't be overweight now. For 10 years I've felt guilty about everything vaguely unhealthy that I've eaten, even at holidays, birthdays... all the time. It's a horrible way to live. I have always felt that I have to hide what I eat from my parents and friends, leading me to binge constantly, hiding food wrappers all over the place, spending all my money on junk food. I've been on every stupid diet there is out there, and always put on more than I've lost because I end up binging again. I honestly think that if my mum had never encouraged me to watch what I was eating I would naturally have lost weight as I got older and had a much more positive attitude to food. This is the first time I have ever admitted any of this to anyone, but I feel that I can because I actually do now have a better attitude to food. Before Chrsitmas I decided I had to change the way I am, and that Christmas would be my last blow out. I forgot about everything for 2 weeks, and I haven't felt guilty about food once, and it's been the best feeling in the world. As of monday, my life changes. I have food and exercise plans and plenty of determination. That turned into a bit of an epic. Anyway, that's one of my resolutions. My others are: I have never felt as determined as I do right now. Maybe it's because I'm no longer a teenager!! IP: Logged |

Munchkinman, if you are in fact 9 years old, you shouldn't be concentrating on a diet. Although, some people are becoming less cautious about what they are putting in to their mouths. There's no problem with say cutting out more fattening foods and eat more fruits and vegetables but I suggest you don't go on a "diet" because it is not healthy for a person your age to be wrapped up in weight issues. We only have concerns about you if you feel that we are attacking you with this issue in any way. Weight issues this early in your life could cause major problems as you become older such as anorexia, bulimia, becoming suicidal, go in to depression, or because of the depression, cause you to eat more and become over weight. ------------------ IP: Logged |

question: how does one go about dating? i am not quite ready to date, but when I am, how do i go about it? this is really quite a mystery to me, this whole dating thing. i have never really done it before and it seems like some kind of confusing math problem that i was not programmed to understand. do any of you date? what's it like? ps: sorry if this post is really really strange...i was just thinking. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have never been on a date. I feel a little bit sad about that. I just started watching this tv programme called How To Look Good Naked and it's so good. I don't think it will be on in the US and there's not much on YouTube but it's the most feel good show ever. It's like Hairspray for an hour a week. It's not about losing weight or having surgery or changing your body in any way, it's about looking at the shape you have and learning how to dress to show it off. The presenter is this guy called Gok Wan and he's amazingly camp (he is sooo like one of my friends it is scary), and he just makes you feel so good about yourself. I'm really really addicted to this show and I think everyone should watch it! Girls because it will just make you feel great, and guys because it will teach you how love a woman's body I'm really addicted. I went shopping with my mum today, and we were picking things up and going, "but what would Gok say?"!! I got a gorgeous coat and boots IP: Logged |

Oh I'm terrified of blood/needles. I mean... it's bad. I've been known to be turned away from Dr. offices before because I was so frightened of the needle that they didn't want to have me as a patient. It's... bad. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I'm in need of a bit of help. It is, yes, "homework" help (although it's not exactly homework since I'm at uni) but I'm trying so hard to get my head round this and I just need to make sure I've understood it, or my whole essay may go a bit wrong (and it's not really going right in the first place). So. I have this paragraph in an essay I'm referencing: "...an important distinction between conceptual space and lived space. Conceptual space is abstract, geometric, and objectively measured, a kind of context or ether within which places, people and things exist. Lived space, by contrast, is the preconceptual and meaningful spatial experience of what phenomenologists call "being-in-the-world"." The way I understand this, 'conceptual space' would be what I, as an architect, design on a piece of paper. This would then become 'lived space' once someone was living in it. I think I've got it way wrong. Anyone got any ideas? IP: Logged |

No, that sounds exactly right; "lived space" isn't o much the pysical structure, but the emotional/spritual essence surrounding it. I think...anyway... I'm quite terrified of needles until they go into me. Then, I swallow the pain and see my precious blood being drained from my body. It's strange. But I always try to avoid injections at any cost. I'm sorry I triple posted....I only clicked it once but the internet connection on my laptop is weird. It kept clicking itself, which isn't entirely new to me. Oh well. If anyone can delete those extra posts please do, I don't want them to waste space on the thread. IP: Logged |

I absolutely hate needles. I've only had to have blood drawn twice thus far in my life and injections are horrible. Luckily no one has ever tried to give me a serious hard time about it. Yes I have tattoos but it is completely different. I don't see the needle and it does not feel the same. I'm worried about getting an epidural (not that I'm planning on it, but I'm not opposed to it either.) They inject the medicine into your spine and yeah... it scares me. At least there is no way I could watch it! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Good for you LLK. I can't do that. No matter what I get nauseous. Pain makes me faint as well, and if someone touches my ears, which are pierced,so I'm a strange child. When I go to the doctor's office I flip out inside myself.(If someone could read my thoughts at that time, it wouldn't be pretty.) I have fainted at least once every year and I remember them all exactly. For most people, fainting is unusual, but with me, unless I'm unconscious for more than thirty seconds, it simply means I either forgot to breathe or I hyperventilated. IP: Logged |

I've been this way since the age of 4, so some of the people I have told about my fainting theorize that I had a traumatic experience. I don't remember ever having an experience that scarred me for life, but then again I may have just blocked it out. And plenty of people know about it, primarily my teachers....in every subject.
