I've been writing a book for a while now, as well. With all the crap that gets published, I figure I've got a shot. And if I'm rejected, I don't really care because I'm not getting my hopes up.

Do you have a plot yet?

I've been writing an anthology of novellas for about a year now...

I hope to expand them into full-fledged books soon enough.

I just want to say to St. A and OTM, it's wise you two are doing this while you're young, because it gives you enough time to get your thoughts together and form a skeletal plot...in ten years (or whatever) you could probably have some really good stuff written out.

I had forensics today and we had to be on the bus at 4:30 in the morning to drive for hours to the competition. When arrived at the competition we went straight into our rounds and we were not done till 6 at night. Needless to say this is a very long time to go on just water. Therefore yes, I would like pizza!

Okay, so I'm watching The Sixth Sence with LLK right now. I've never actually watched the whole thing, and it's creepin' me out. I'm such a wuss. Scary movies these days aren't what they used to be. Now scary movies are about gore. Like HOSTEL. That was a horrible movie. I do kind of want to see The Messangers, which comes out this Friday, but I know I won't sleep for a week.

I do have a plot, it's not as thick as I want it yet - but it's coming along. I told you this, but I suppose I should go into a little more detail.

The story's working title is "Grace from Blood," reffering to two things:
1.) Lutheranism, the whole thing about that religion is you get Grace from the Blood of Jesus. (This aspect has nothing to do with the story, it's just where the title came from.)

2.) Grace, is the main character. And she is a hemophelliac Type C. (The only type of Hemophellia that can be passed on to girls. (Hemopheilla is a blood clotting disease. Hence the Blood, part of the title.)

Grace is nine. She's never been iceskating, she doesn't know how to ride a bike. The story takes course over a year, for Grace. it talks about her illness, how she goes for routine Aephearesis sessions (blood thickening) and how she, at the end of the book, dispite her parent's (very strong) efforts to keep their daughter safe, she dies from internal bleeding which leaked into her joints.

(I started writing this story in third person, past tense, because, well it's what I'm comfortable with, but I'm thinking of changing it to first person.)

... *hands out boxes of tissues* I took a note from Jodi Picoult, and (thanks to Caitlin) the dynasty of the Romanovs. My thing is, if you walk into Borders and Barns and Noble, you've got books like "TTYL" and "I'm not Julia Roberts.."

I agree with you - with all that crap that is getting published and shoved on shelves, if I can write this, why don't I have a shot?

-- Also, this book serves as a duel purporse, if anyone is still reading this super long post:

I started this as a way to exersize my ability to research and write.

- This is also serving as a end -of - year huge thank you gift to my English teacher.
(And to Caitlin.)

Wow...

I have a question for those of you that use iTunes frequently...

I was wondering if my iTunes account would be accessible from other computers other than my home computer, which is where I use it from.

If I download iTunes onto my computer at work, will I be able to just enter my ID and bring up my already existing account, or does it not work that way? Just wondering.

I have a weird kind of problem, and I could do with some thoughts.
About 5 months ago I met this guy, Andy. I met him on a night out in some gay clubs, because my friend Rory is gay and every few weeks we have a night out together. Andy, Rory and I have become pretty good friends and we all go out together every 2 or 3 weeks - this is the only time we see each other, when we go out, so alcohol is always involved. When we met Andy he said he was gay, and I was fine with it. I thought he was cute, we got on really well and yeah, maybe I fancied him a bit but I accepted the fact he was gay. A few weeks later we started talking about sexuality, and he said he still had feelings for girls as well as boys. Obviously, I got my hopes up. Since then he's continued to say he's bisexual, and when we've been out he's kissed boys but he's also kissed me, 3 times now. However, he's always found an excuse to kiss me. The first and third times it was because he wanted to kiss someone, and me being relationship-less for over a year and encouraged by alcohol didn't exactly resist. The second time it was because "he'd seen someone he knew and didn't want them to know he was gay". I put that in "..." (completely forgotten the name for those groovy little things right now) because I don't actually know whether this person existed - he didn't speak to anyone, or point out who it was.
Basically, I'm confused. What am I supposed to make of all this?

I agree. You need to sit and have a little chat about that. Whether he is gay, straight, busexual, trisexual, or asexual there needs to be some understanding of where everyone stands. And trying to find someone you like is difficult enough without all that.

GRRRR> Is there a way to delete an acount on here? When I firt came here I was 'elphie bah' but I wasn't able to sign in for a week so I made a new acount. I am now 'LPhiBah' and most f the time it stays that way. But today it keeps logging me in as 'elphi bah' even after I log in as 'LPhiBah'

Edited for frustrations.

Concert:

Don't miss Josh Groban in an exclusive concert with the BBC Concert Orchestra and special guests.

In a Valentine Special, American singing sensation Josh Groban performs with the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Martin Yates. The concert, which will be recorded on Monday 12 February at the Mermaid in London, also features Idina Menzel, who played Elpheba in the Broadway and West End premiers of Wicked, Lucia Micarelli, an amazing violinist who features on Josh's new album, and the brilliant Angelique Kidjo.

Josh Groban launched his debut self-titled album in 2001 which, over the next year, went from gold to double-platinum. He performed on tour with Sarah Brightman and was involved in many benefit concerts. Josh's career has also included scores of television appearances, including Ally McBeal, Oprah Winfrey, Good Morning America, The Today Show, two PBS specials, the Superbowl, the Oscars and the closing ceremony of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. In November 2006, he released his third album, Awake, and he's just about to start touring.

Did anyone happen to see the Tyra Banks episode last week featuring witchcraft and Satanism? I didn't, but I'm curious to hear about it if anyone did....

I am not fond of Tyra Banks, so I do not watch her show, and throughout the promotion of that particular episode I kept seeing phrases like "white witches" and "blood ritual," so I rolled my eyes and avoided it.

It sounded to me like the portrayal of Neo-Pagan witches was another well-intentioned but misguided parade of harmless lunatics, and the portrayal of Satanism sounded completely off-base. And then, of course, there was the "former witch" author woman, but I cannot blame the producers for wanting to appear "balanced," I suppose....

But, as I said, I did not watch it, so I too would be somewhat interested to hear from someone who did.

Yes, I have heard about that, too. We'll see.

TLC and the Discovery channels are perfectly respectable, but the problem is not necessarily with the station--the problem is often with the kinds of people inclined to go on television. Someone commenting on the Witches' Voice put it quite well: the Neo-Pagan community is like the South--we can't keep the dumbest of us off of television.
