quote: I'm sorry you didn't get the job Helen! But you'll get one soon. Tim Horton? There is a hockey team at the rink I used to play at and they had these jerseys that said Tim Horton on them. Do you know if it's the same thing? (It's pathetic. Almost my whole life connects to hockey.) Money is a good thing in general. IP: Logged |

quote: yes greenery i think it is the same thing. was this team sponsored by Tim Hortons, is that why the name was on thier jerseys? there are little kid hockey teams also, and they are called TIMBITS. a timbit is the Tim Hortons/Canadian word used to describe the little tiny ball doughnut things...like if you took the dough that was taken to make the hole in the doughnut and then turned it into a doughnut of its own....i dont really know how describe it because in canada there is really no other word for it except 'timbit'. even when we go to ANOTHER coffee shop that is NOT Tim Hortons, we still order it by the name 'TimBits'. its like 'Kleenex'. IP: Logged |

krispy creme tried to make in canada too. they went under in about a year...we are VERY VERY loyal to Tim Hortons around here..its anotehr weird canadian thing. (i'm not saying i want to work there though, i just want money!) edit: OH! and who named it Krispy Cream (creme?) in the first place? the name alone makes me want to chuck my cookies! ugh! i see. i would rather have Dunkin' Doughnuts. the krispy kreme ones tend to be highly addictive and they look so manufactured (they look too perfect. the icing is never cracked.) and they tend to taste disgusting after a day or so. EDIT: i just realized. if the cream is crispy, why isn't it cracked in the box? huh. [This message has been edited by slightlyconfuzzled (edited 08-09-2006).] IP: Logged |

quote: I think I'm one of the few Americans who isn't a Krispy Kreme fan. Their donuts make me feel like my arteries are clogging up as I eat. What's really gross is that they introduced some new donut-flavored drink. It's basically their donuts, in liquid form. *BARF* IP: Logged |

quote: Ewwwwwwwwwwwww! No, I'm with you. I never liked their donuts. Then again, I'm not a big donut fan, period. They all sit like rocks in my tummy. Plus I'm just a health freak, so the thought of that much sugar and fried greasiness makes me sick. Blech. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I never was much of a donut fan. I just like the little powdered sugar ones. I have a question, and maybe I'm just stupid and missed something, but where's Heath/ready2flywww? I haven't seen him around lately...did he leave? Or have I just not been reading close enough? IP: Logged |

That's honestly a good question Greenery. I haven't actually received an email back from him in a very, very long time. I just know that Saturday is his birthday, and I really wanted to send him a card, but I don't have his address, and I know there is no way I'll hear from him before then.... He has a tendency to disappear for extended periods of time. It's actually rather disappointing... I miss him.I'm actually going to try to send another email... thanks Greenery. Has anyone seen the news? I guess today was supposed to be the next 9/11 or something. Scary stuff warning! (Seriously, don't look if you're easily freaked out.) According to comcast.net, Al Qaida members were planning on blowing up at least 10 airplanes on trans-atlantic flights. The attack was, of course, thwarted, and police now suspect that today was simply a "dry run." All liquids excluding baby formula and medicine are being confiscated from passengers, as terrorists are using liquids to make bombs. Over 20 people have been arrested.

Yeah... I've been following it all day. And I'm flying to New Jersey in a few weeks... I don't want to anymore. I'm so terrified for the future of this country. Anyone want to move to Sweden with me? IP: Logged |

Sweden sounds good. But, in all seriousness, at least you knwo you'll be safe with all this security-on-steriods. IP: Logged |

I know. I have two thoughts that save my sanity: 1. This is the best time to fly because security is on such a high alert. And 2. No one is going to bother hijacking a plane from Boston to Philly because there's not enough fuel to pique their interest. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I saw that on the front page of our paper today, and it was like, "Woah!" That would have been like 10 planes blown up. You know, it doesn't seem like a HUGE deal because it didn't succeed, but what if it had? That would have been like 9/11 all over again. And now, nobody's allowed to bring liquids on planes. That's crazy. It's a precaution, and I suppose it's somewhat necessary, but thousands of people fly daily, and now they can't even have a water bottle on the plane with them. Back when I was in sixth grade, my friend Makenzie and I decided to move to Sweden because of the free medicare stuff. So I'm all in! IP: Logged |

Hehe. I chose Sweden because it has just always seemed such neutral territory, and you never hear anything in the news about anything crazy happening there. Anyway, my mom thinks that enough people will complain about not even being able to bring water on the plane that perhaps they'll have to make some arrangements to hand out small bottles of water or something as people are boarding. Especially for long flights. I get incredibly dehydrated when I fly, so for me, if I don't keep water in me, my hands and feet swell to almost painful degrees. I also get bad pressure headaches, and water always seems to help that. However, sometimes on my shorter flights to NJ they won't even pull out the beverage cart because there'd be no point. So I'll be one of those people that will have something to say about it. Ugh. It's just such an inconvenience. I was talking about it all with my boyfriend last night, and his mother tried to recommend that I buy all the things I'll need to have in liquid form and mail it down there ahead of time. I was like... Are you crazy?! I would spend so much money just to do that rather than just check my bags. I'd rather save money over time, thank you. IP: Logged |

I just remembered, I had a crazy dream last night, and it doesn't really need to be analyzed, but if someone wants to go ahead. I just didn't feel like putting it in the dreams thread. So I dreamed that I was in a play. And the play was "Wicked" though it doesn't follow the plot exactly. I was Elphaba. And I only remember the last bit. There was this big parade-like thing, and I was waiting on some stairs for someone in a big carriage. I leaned forward eagerly, and the door opened and this blond woman opens the door and I immediate know that it's Glinda. I run forward and shriek "Glinda!" and give her a big hug, lifting her off of the ground. And we're so happy to see each other. So we walk around, but all along I'm conscious of the fact that it's a play, and I'm on the stage. Now it really strays from the Wicked plot. I know that I'm supposed to die soon, but I don't melt. Instead, Glinda and I are walking and I'm supposed to get hit by a car. But Glinda gets all confused and walks in front of the car so that she dies, not me. But I know that the show must go on, so I throw myself in front of the car so that the play is finished and I die too. And in the play I loved Glinda so much, I would die for her. I felt that. And she looked...familiar. *cue creepy music* But it was a play . Yeah. I just thought I'd share. I woke up and was like, huh? And then this morning I read Wicked the book and I read the part where Glinda and Elphie split and it goes: "But Glinda turned and cried out, 'Oh Elphie!' The witch didn't turn. They never saw each other again." That part makes me want to cry. So, that's Greenery's random thing of the day. IP: Logged |

*twitch* Myspace *twitch* ANYHOO. I met a Turkish kid at camp. So his parents are divorced. His father is Muslim, his mother is Lutheran. So he goes to a Unitarian Church. All he needs to do is a marry a Jew, and I think he'll have one of them most multicultered family I've seen in quite a long while: and he's awesome. ANYWAY. oh. and another thing: My counsler was from AUSTALIA! She's staying at camp till Septmeber 1st, then bumming around Chicago for week, going to NY, then L.A., Washington D.C. and Las Vegas. I begged her to see a show while in New York. All of our cabin: "YOU DONT KNOW THE TRIX RABBIT!?" IP: Logged |
