Yeah I haven't had a chance yet. I'm sorry. My um...'aunt flo' is in town and was kicking my ass big time last night so I was in bed for a good part of the evening. Stupid female time..... I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'll try again a.s.a.p.! IP: Logged |

Ah. I can certainly vouch for that! I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well! Drink milk...? Apparently it's supposed to help, or something. I just prefer my herb pack that gets popped into the microwave for some steamy comforting heat. Ahhh.... IP: Logged |

today, i am feeling a little depressed. there are things clouding up my mind that i cannot resolve untl my boyfriend comes home tomorrow from his operation. i feel like a lonely old sloth with nothing to do but clean the apartment for guests on the weekend. i guess good word to use would be 'mellon collie'...and i dont even know if i spelt that right....*big surrendering sigh* IP: Logged |

Heh. You actually spelled it the way the Smashing Pumpkins did on their 1995 album "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness". TJ beat me to the correction. [This message has been edited by Plant a Note (edited 07-27-2006).] IP: Logged |

so, i'm still feeling crappy and meloncholy (did i get it right?) and i feel the infinite sadness approaching, BUT.... i have an interview at the public library tomorrow at 11:30am. i dont have a license or a car...looks like i am walking or biking. one problem. i think my nice dress pants might be overkill at the interview and my wardrobe in very minimal (as in i do not own very many clothes). i could wear a skirt, but i'll probably be walking or biking to the library...no fun. and my tattoo would show. do you guys think i could i could away with clean jeans and a nice top? aw, poop! *and another big sigh* [This message has been edited by helenbooktrip (edited 07-27-2006).] IP: Logged |

Yeah, I think so. It's a library, so unless it's one of those really fancy library, I think you'd be fine. A nice top goes a long way toward making jeans look as though they fit into the dressier side of your wardrobe. Wow! Greenery just made a statement about fashion! This is incredibly unusual. IP: Logged |

i think i might do that. jeans with nice shoes and top. i'll see what i can do. IP: Logged |

The interview is for a job, I am assuming. What position? IP: Logged |
|

its like a program/event planner for events and activities that the library would put on. but if they want me to organize shelves, i would do that too. IP: Logged |

That sounds much more exciting than shelving books. Believe me. My mother ran the school library for a while. She took advantage of the free labor at her fingertips. Not fun. IP: Logged |

True. However, I was not paid. Which actually brings me to a random question, what is the back-and-forth between US money and Canadian money? IP: Logged |

what do you mean the back-and-forth?? edit - keep playing the 6 degress of kevin bacon thread. [This message has been edited by helenbooktrip (edited 07-27-2006).] IP: Logged |

I don't know the word. Gah! you know how a euro is about 1.68 US dollars (just a random number, not the exact amount). Well, do you know the Canadian thing? Because I have heard that a Canadian quarter is supposedly less than a US one, but you can get away with using them because no one looks at the quarters. Maybe I'm just confused??? IP: Logged |

you mean the conversion rate! i dont know too much about that, but i do think that the USD$ and the CAD$ are always changing against each other, i dont know really. but here in canada, we pretty accept US COINS and treat it like canadian money, we dont care too much. but when i was in the US, they wouldnt even accept a canadian PENNY! i kid you not, not one CENT canadian. ah well. IP: Logged |

That's it! I pay with Canadian pennies all the time. I don't know. I just hand over the money and run. Aww! Greenday's "Time of your life" is on the radio. They played that at our (junior high) graduation. It made us all feel like crying. IP: Logged |

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going away for the weekend! I didn't want you all to go, "Hey, where the flip did TJ go? Did she die? *mumbles, worrying, etc.*" Family camping trip through Monday, so, I'll probably be back late Monday or sometime Tuesday. Don't miss me too much! IP: Logged |

wow! I almost forgot! I'm going away to camp on Sunday, for two weeks. So just to let you know, that I'll be gone for a while, so again, no mumbling about me dying. Now, this won't turn out like the Hannukah fiasco, where everyone assumed that Hannukah lasted 2 and a half weeks and thought I'd gone off to celebrate it. *chuckles* oh! Have fun Tj! IP: Logged |

*dances* My shirt is lime green! With bright colors on the back! I love it! I'm so glad it still fits! Actually, it fits, like, perfectly! -ish! (I left it in the States when we went to China.) And, SoulPatrol or SignificantOther or whatever you'd like to be called, I totally second Peter - you need to watch the End of the World thing. Best thing ever. You know the other hilarious movie I watched the other day? Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. He is so funny, but some of what he said made me amazed that he would say it in front of the President. I mean, I suppose that's the point. But would you like an example? Talking about Bush: "He doesn't just stand for things, he stands on things - things like aircraft carriers, or piles of rubble, or recently flooded city squares. And that sends a powerful message to the rest of the world: that no matter what happens, America will come back, with some of the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world." *dies* I would never say that with the President of the United States right there, but watching it was amazingly funny. *searches for link* Obviously there's sound, so stick some headphones in your computer if you're going to watch it at work, but...*dies laughing* And the weather here isn't bad anymore - it's gray, but what else is new? - and my grandpa is taking me book-shopping on Tuesday but there's a used bookstore within easy walking distance of my house where I'll go soon to look for The Fourth Bear because Barnes and Noble didn't have it, but I'm still reading lots of books - I didn't really read If on a winter's night at all yesterday, because we were at the beach and I felt too lazy. I think some of Italo Calvino is seeping into my brain, because that sentence ran on for about an age. IP: Logged |
