*Sigh* Yes, two posts in a row. So sue me.

Anywho, I shall tell you all about my day, because nobody else is here. At all.

So. I got up at 6:30 am, when I am used to getting up at 10:30 am. I had gotten less than five hours of sleep that night, because I could not fall asleep. I am used to about ten hours. My father drives me to an ice rink an hour away. I check in and get my jersey. I look like a zombie. But then *dadadaDA!* hockey camp gets started! Whee! It was really fun, because there were three people who had professional hockey experience there, teaching us. I was one of the oldest kids there, but I learned a lot. and it was just Day One! I get to go back tomorrow! I love hockey. I should have been born in Canada. Then certain people *coughTWYZcough* wouldn't say "Hockey? Isn't that that game on ice? I didn't know girls could play hockey." Well, Twyz didn't say the thing about girls. But everyone else does.

I am incredibly bored.

Aye. I watch off and on, so I'm not devout but I went to my first hockey game (first professional sporting event) this past January. Devils vs. Islands. Devils won in sudden death shoot out :-)

Eeew...heh.

But yes, PaN you win for today, but I had you beat on Sunday! It was a wonderful 105 degrees! And the night before my entire block lost power for six hours. Ick.

Although I'd still rather be warm than freezing. I'm always freezing!

Wow... That's kind of weird. We lost power on Sunday too. Not for six hours, but about two, and it was verrrrry widespread. About two miles in every direction from my house was out. So I said, screw this, I'm not going to sit in an increasingly warm house. So I tossed on my bathing suit and drove to my cousins house who have a 9-foot deep in-ground pool. Ohhh yeah.

And I'm not sure about the warm or freezing thing... because you can always put more clothes on if you're cold. But you can only take so much off if you're hot...

wha....Helen you just totally confused me! I'm thinking one of three things happened with this post.

1.) It was actually 44 degrees by you, and your just being Ms. Sarcastic-Sassy Pants

2.) It's a typo

3.) you're part penguin, and think that 44 degrees is horribly hot.

woah! My friend's lost power too! And it was like a citywide thingy, but appearntly my friend is included there.

hey! I'm going to my Aunt and Uncle's house. Which is orginally twice as big as my house (I have a big house!) AND, they added on a "summer house" thingy. AND they BUILT A POOL...

so, we're going on Saturday to swim in it!

My final scene is tomrrow, and I'm practicing with her today, ugh.

Oh, and, we spent the ENTIRE class talking about highschool, drugs, sex, and what not to do during Freshman year. It was pretty weird.

(Psst... *whispers in SO's ear* Helen lives in Canada. They go by degrees celsius there. 44 degrees C = 111 degrees F)

I'm sure Elphaba Potter is around here somewhere laughing at us, and our wussiness. She lives in Vegas (I think...?) and it's always like over 100 degrees F there.

Oh and Heath. I'm sure it's not too cool being right on the Gulf of Mexico, haha.

So I was putzing around on IMDB.com and noticed that Adam Pascal is in the movie School of Rock with Jack Black. He plays someone named Theo....??

I've seen this movie three times and still can't place who this character is. Has anyone seen it, and do they remember this? It's driving me nuts and I'm too impatient to wait and rent it to watch again.

The exact same thing happened to me. And I still have no idea who he plays. My guess is that he's one of the guys who kicks Jack out of the band in the beginning. Like, who was in Jacks old band. But I have no idea.

He was the lead singer in Jack's old band. I think he really only shows up at the beginning and the end.

Alright, I am going to use this thread to my advantage. I am bored. And it is late. And I have a lot to say. So here it goes.

We had quite a storm we had today.

Guess what everyone?
My birthday is coming up.
And as usual it won't be celebrated. Usually my parents head off to a
party for my Dad's work on my birthday, not this year.
No. This year we will be on vacation for my birthday.
Do my parents not remeber it is my birthday? Yes, I mean, I always get presents..

But no one ever really acknowledges it.
And now that our vacation has been rescheduled, I will not only miss the
auditions I was reconsidering going to, but I will also miss my birthday.

This sucks.

Anyway, you know what is a good movie? Crash. If you haven't yet seen it,

I recomend you do. It is very good.
Shame on the Academy for giving it so may awards and not once hinting how
good it actually was.
While I am on the subject of the Academy. Shame on them for letting
Beyonce sing with Josh Groban. Its been a year, and I still pisses me
off.

I've noticed lately that every time I look in the mirror I make a
negative comment about my appearance.
I'm not alone. Day in and out a crowd forms in front of the mirror,
everyone making sure that everything looks perfect.
Yet, as we turn from the mirror, the mumbling starts.
The hair is messy, clothes awful, or the entire package is not
presentable.
Why do we voluntarily walk in front of something that makes us feel bad?
Why is all anyone ever sees in the mirror their physical imperfections?
Having realized this, I've been not only trying to be more positive (as I
"critique" my appearance), but also I'm looking beyond the surface to
find the beauty within. I wish I looked into my mirror the same way I
look at the river in Maine. Everything it reflects always looks beautiful
to me.
My favorite time to "look into" the river is on a clear night when the
moon is full and hanging over the water. Now we all know the moon is this
big, round, crated ball but when it's reflected in the water, I see past
the imperfections. As the moon dances in the ripples, true beauty rises
to the surface. It's so pure and natural; a flawless art of nature.
Mirrors could be like rivers if people would accept the reflections. Look
beyond the surface flaws; let the mirror reflect the unseen beauty of our
souls. We are all works of art. Next time you look in the mirror, look at
the whole person and you'll see there are fewer things to criticize.

Have you ever felt like a child and an old person all at the same time?
Think about it.

In many ways, I'm like a small child, with so many fears, forever afraid
of the dark.
But also like an old woman: seen too much, been through too much, and
very tired.
I love the simplicity of solitude and I adore the beautiful melody of
music from a piano.
The child in me wants to dance to it, but the old woman keeps the child
silent, forever composed.
I wish I was a child again. I think we all do.
Instead of wondering where I am going to college(yes, even sophmores
worry about that), I'd wonder how to tie my shoes.
I worry about homework and that I will soon be on my own, living.
It can be stressful and somtimes fun.
But I would still give anything to be a child again, and worry about
what's under the Christmas tree, what time recess is, and if the tooth
fairy will come tonight. What I remeber most now about being a child is
wanting to grow up.

When did we lose our childhood?
When we stopped believing in the tooth fairy, and Santa Clause.

Do you remember how old you were the first Christmas morning you woke up
and wanted to go back to sleep? If you were like me, you knew what was
coming. There was no mystery about whether there would be presents under
the tree, or if Santa had written a note and eaten the cookies. Knowing
what to expect, it was just another day of vacation.

Sleep seems hard to come by as you get older. With homework, more
responsibility and even a job, if there's no alarm buzzing, no bus, no
teachers, just the satisfaction of lying still for a moment, you give in
no matter what. My parents used to do this on Christmas morning, and I
never understood why. Now I do. This is one of those defining moments when you know you are losing your childhood innocence.

It seems children want to grow out of their childhood; they dream of
being adults. When you go to a toy store, what do you see? Usually mini versions of items used by adults. There's play money and cash registers, toy trucks and cars; everything you could think of to make a child feel mature. It's almost as if they're rushing their lives along. My cousin is ten years old and his mind is set on one thing - wanting everything now.

Kids are impatient when it comes to the future. To them, it seems like so much fun, and so far away.
Teens want time to move faster so they can get their license and be able to vote. When you were four, did you rush your parents out the door to the movies so you could snag the good seats? No, most likely you were preoccupied with trying to tie your shoelaces. Little kids aren't caught up in the hustle and bustle of our instant-gratification society.

I think the last few years of childhood are those spent at high school. Your parents still take you everywhere, curfews are set, and sometimes your mom sneaks a note into your lunch.

I remeber the first Christmas I had the notion of just wanting to sleep.
It didn't phase me then. But now it scares me.

I don't want to ever forgot the magic that Christmas brings.
That same Christmas, a movie called The Polar Express came out.
It is about a young boy who no longer believes in the spirit of Christmas. I don't believe I have ever cried that hard in all my life.
There is a song called Believe by Josh Groban that plays at the end of
the movie, and I will forever treasure the song, and its meaning.

It has been 3 years since that Christmas, and it still scares me that oneday the feeling of just wanting to sleep could come back.

But until it does I will wake up at 6am, excited, and run into my parents room with my little brother, and so will begin Christmas morning.
Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, and I will forever love it. I now know that. I can't let go. I won't.

Watch the Polar Express. I know its July, but you'll still appreciate it.
I watch it every now and then and I still cry my heart out. I no longer see myself. I now see my little brother. He yearns to grow up and be mature. Christmas Eve it makes my heart ache that I put out the cookies by myself.
It makes me very very sad that he puts on his iPod in the car while my Dad and I
sing as loud as we can to every Christmas song that comes on the radio.
My brother scoffs at us, and rolls his eyes at our immaturity. That hurts.

I know Santa doesn't exist, and yet I still believe.
Maybe thats why I love Christmas. Because it is the only season that you can forgot everything, and you can just be a kid again then. No worries, no drama, just magic, and wonder.

Alright. I believe I am finally done. It is almost 3 am. So I am heading to bed. Goodnight.

The only day of the year where I'm the first person up, willing, is Christmas Morning. My brother always sleeps in... and I normally have to wait a few hours before I get to drag his ass out of bed. I go down stairs and look to see what presents have whose name on it. Then when every one is settled Jeremy and I hand them out. Normally it's only me though.

...I just realized my Christmas will never be the same since my parents are splitting. Hm...

2) Crash is fantastic, and I can see how it won best picture.
3) I love Christmas. What I don't like is my 18 year old brother acting like a jerk because he's tired and bringing me down from my present high.
4)Skate owns Jate. (Way off topic; has nothing to do with Scarecrow's post)

wow, that's some rant Scarecrow and I want to comment on it out of order.

On Christmas:
Yes, as well all know time and time again I have mentioned that I a Jew. But my mother's family is Christian. We do celebrate Christmas every year, and we used to have everyone come. My brother who lives across the country, and my sister would come, and my uncle would fly out and it we would all drive (even my dad would come,) and we would all stay at my grandparents house. Or our house sometimes. Now my sister or my brother haven't been able to make it every year. Sometimes my sister doesn't come. Sometimes my brother doesn't come, but I'm still thrilled my Uncle always finds a way out here... And yes I celebrate Hannukah and I love the whole getting presents - who doesn't? But truth be told it's not even a holiday. The whole eight candles crap? Not true. It was a war story, and the eight candles thing, yeah, that was made up 500 years later by a different civilization. Yet. we still celebrate it, we have songs about it. We have prayers about it.. well the Jewish religion has prayers for EVERYTHING. (and if they don't , I'm willing to bet they're making a prayer for it...)
Anyways the point: is I love Christmas and Hannukah.

My short inturuption: Scarecrow, I am so, so, so sorry to hear that. I would never want to be unacknowledged on your birthday. And I'll always give you a happy birthday, hell, I'll make you a virtual present! *hugs* *double hugs.*

My rant on mirrors:
I hate them. I really really hate them. And you're question: why do step in front of things we hate? I hate brushing my teeth and looking in the mirror - braces are a pain. I hate brushing my hair in the morning or after a shower and watching one part dry and become increasingly pissed off because it doesn't fall into place and I can't find hair pins. I hate getting dressed in the morning, I hate putting on clothes, throwing them to the floor and starting all over again in five minutes.

Yes, I critique how I look. I always do. I hate to admit it, and I know you all do it, we all watch people and what they wear. We make inward judgements and think "Oh god, how could she even BUY that," and I know people do the same to me. Though, weather they are courtous enough to keep the comments to themselves is another matter.

I never outwardly say I don't like how I look to myself in front of the mirror. I'll make faces and sigh and once in a while I'll just throw a shirt at the mirror. (I have a floor length.) I say to other people that I hate taking pictures, I hate how I look.

I have been called anorexic and bullimic. I am neither and never will be. Spend an afternoon with me all I do is eat. I "blame" it on my early birth that I am so skinny and that I have a fast metabulism. I'm good with that, still I look at myself and think I look bad in one outfit, or pants don't fit right...

Why do we do it? We do it to impress people. We do it, to impress ourselves. Hell, we do it, to impress our brother and our sisters and our pets. We want to look good for people we want to go out in the world and we want to be noticed. In a good way.

So why do we step in front of a glass that shows us what we really look like? So we can make ourselves a bit neater then how we looked the moment we rolled out of bed.
