Ok so I was way off.. Key wasn't British. But it WAS during the War of 1812 that he wrote the poem that the anthem was based from. Greenery I apologize.

Awww, that's okay! I just find it amusing that it's a drinking song tune. And I don't really like it, I find the music rather...unattractive. Though it makes a good drinking song. *Hums tune* Yep. Great for the drunken people. A national anthem? Not so much. But that's just me.

Acey, you crack me up.

I noticed, you bum! But I was kidnapped to the beach by my parents and I didn't have internet so I wasn't on to say anything. And a few hours ago I realized that this damn beach house HAS internet and my mom wanted to see how long it took for me to figure it out. So I didn't have internet from Friday night to like, 6 today. Boo.

I hear ya, sister. But I must say, I'm jealous of your time zone! Your east coast Bostonian time zone has you at 10:19 in the morning already, and my stupid Midwestern time is only at 9:19...

And I did notice that you were gone. I just saw the post about your boyfriend visiting like, 5 minutes ago. I'm slow. And it's Monday.

grumble....

heh...isn't it, though? In the Wizard of Oz movie, I always got creeped out when her feet curled up and disappeared, especially because that scary angry-trumpet musice was playing while it happened. But this just makes it funny.

At least I'm keeping busy by writing a song. Yes, while at work. I'm sure everyone has realized by now that I do just about everything (eat, sleep, read, write, talk on the phone, email, file nails, shop) at work... besides work.

Those are the yahoo smilies. Aren't they great? I just love them! Some days I'll send myself messages on my yahoo messenger at work just to giggle at some of the smilies they have. *shifty eyes*

Going on a year. I'm not sure if that's a long time or not. Wouldn't really seem so, though honestly it feels like I've been here for ages. I never liked it though. I was excited for maybe the first two weeks of working... but now... not so much.

Aw, I'm sorry. I've been at my job for 5 months, and I'm itching to leave. Initially I thought it would be okay, but I'm just bored by what I do, and I really don't like most of the people I work with. They're all....snobby. It makes me feel like I'm in high school. Stupid work..

Hang in there, PaN. I feel your pain!

Thanks. The thing that sucks the most, is that it's not like I'm not trying. I have been sending out resumes all the time, always with the same result. And lately I haven't been focusing on my own job search as much as my boyfriend's. The reasoning behind this isn't completely selfless, because I know that as soon as we can find him a job up here, I'll feel generally better about everything. Work will be a little more tolerable only because I will be able to see him more often which will just lift my mood overall. But I intend to actually send out a resume for a job that I'm no where's near qualified for, but I'm hoping maybe I'll get lucky...

FINE! dont anyone wonder where i've been! you dont have to miss me, it's fine!!

i joke i joke! i am now MOVED IN with my boyfriend. back in the province of Ontario, i am now in the little town of Pembroke.

i am at the public library *snorts and pushes up glasses* using the internet. we wont have internet in our place until monday of next week. so i will be sparce on the boards until then. and even then, i will have to pry my boyfriend away from the computer (he is a gamer and is dying without his highspeed internet). so i apologize for not being on much lately. i probably wont even be able to update myself on all of the threads today.

i had a job interview today at a travel agenecy. they didnt say yes, they didnt say no. they have to wait until the accountant sends back the budget to see if they can even afford to yhire someone. but overall the interview went pretty well! i wa sno scared to go in! i've never been good at the interview stuff.

so...how is everyone?

Hello, Helen! I'm doing okay. PaN and I were just venting about jobs. And yes, I was wondering where you've been.

AND...I understand the whole "gamer boyfriend" thing. My boyfriend is a total gamer. Maybe they play the same game!

Though I do have to say, when the time comes that I move in with my boyfriend (if that ever happens) I will not have to worry about the internet. He will be too busy in his studio playing guitar. Hehe.

Helen, my boyfriend plays World of Warcraft. He's REALLY in to it. It's actually a pretty neat game, but I don't have the attention span to play it as long as he does. I've heard him mention Guild Wars before, but right now WoW is his pastime.

And PaN, I'm insanely jealous as well

First off, has anyone seen "Imagine Me & You"? Because I really want to see it. Secondly, I was on the thread on IMDB for it and I saw this reply on one of those Homosexuality is/isn't a sin threads.

Person 1: "Two women can truly fall in love? And two men as well? The truth is these stories aren't realistic. We are not made to fall in love with the same sex. Plain and freaking simple."

Person 2: "Really? You seriously think that just because you can't imagine loving someone of the same gender that it's not possible? I can't imagine falling in love with a republican, but people do it all the time, so it must be possible."

Safe to say, Person 2 is my hero, and sufficiently made me laugh today. I thought some other people on here might get a kick out of their reply too.

Anywho, I put a link in my profile-thingy-ma-jig here. If anyone wants to read some of my stuff... it's there. Some of it is really bad, I won't lie. But my most recent song, I'm pretty happy with. So let me know what you guys think, if any of you read it!

Yeah, luckily I sit in the receptionist area, so my back is to the windows and my face is towards the hallway/elevator, which means that whenever someone walks by, they can't see my computer screen. So I can get away with a lot now. Before we moved down here, I used to have my back to the door, so people could always see my screen. I must say I love this set-up now. Haha.
