someone needs to save me from my boredom! ahhh!! i cnt wait to move in with my boyfriend and then i will get a job and i wont be bored anymore!! so i need some suggestions from everyone. and i'm not too proud to be asking this. but anyway, i need to start exercising badly! i used to be so thin and now...well, now i'm not! and it doesnt feel good! so heres the thing, i need to find a way/form of exercise, but i dont have any money for a gym, i cant drive to a gym. so a gym is out of the question. i dont have access to a pool. i do not run (long story). so what the hell do i do? maybe i could take my dog for a big walk everyday. i'm just paranoid cuz the path i would take for a walk makes me scared and after living in a slum city for three years, i dont trust anything. YOGA YOGA YOGA YOGA YOGA. I will preach about yoga until the cows come home. If you can find a good place to take it with someone that's inexpensive, try that. If not, there are soooo many dvd's out there and a mat only costs about $20. It's such a great workout and you don't have to overexert yourself at all. Plus it's really refreshing. I love it. Well the benefit of yoga mats is they keep your feet and hands and other parts of your body from sliding around while you're doing the positions. Trust me this can be very helpful. I started out not using one at all, and I did yoga on my carpet and my fet would constantly slide. Also it gives you a little bit of cushion when you're in sitting positions or focusing on final relaxation. So that does help. And no it doesn't need to be anything special. My advice would be choose one that doesn't cost a lot, haha. As far as what kind of DVD's to choose, I can see where you want a weight loss one, but I would really recommend getting a beginner's DVD first. Weight loss focused yoga can be really hard the first time. I would say get used to the prospect of yoga first before you try something a little more advanced. Plus choosing a weight loss DVD might give you the wrong impression of yoga itself. It's mostly about focusing on your breathing and adjusting your muscles to accomodate the positions and then getting used to those positions so you can perform them better the next time. I like Rodney Yee's DVD's because he's very relaxing and he understands how to teach beginners (and he's not bad to look at, hehe.) I hope this helps!! that helps alot actually, thank you! i feel so dumb asking about this! but i need it and its time to take action. now all i need is some money for a dvd and a way of getting to store to buy it without my dad giving me 21 questions about it. hmmm.. i took a yoga class at my college once, it was pretty cool. but i dont remember any of it. HEY KIDS!  Long time no write...I wasn't sure where to put this so this thread seemed as good as any. I'm back from my hiatus and let me just say being back at work today sucks ass to say the least. It was really hard to come back in today. I saw Wicked on Broadway the weekend before last and it was amazing. Eden did a great job as Elphaba. I have no one else to compare her too but I thought she was amazing and so was Megan as Glinda. She was hysterical. It was better than I imagined it would be. I was already so familiar with the music and the story but it was still every bit as good as I thought it would be. All very exciting! It's weird and maybe I'm just a dork but I thought about this board and everyone here while I was away. I missed everyone and it's strange to miss people you have never met but I did. I thought of you all often and wondered what the latest discussions were about or if there had been any drama I missed out on. GAHHH!!! My mp3 player is broken... completely broken and there are no more warranties on it, and customer service won't help me anymore! My whole collection is on that player... some thousands of songs... and I use it every day, getting to work, all day during work, and coming home from work. Not to mention when I'm exercising. What am I supposed to do?! I can't go without one for an extended period of time! But I can't afford to buy a new one! *tears* I'm so lost without it! I needed to vent... sorry. i apologize for disappearing for almost 3 days. on monday night (late) my boyfriend got the VERY last minute approval fom the military that out apartment hunting trip was a go and that it started the NEXT DAY! ahhh! so i had to pack and arrange a train ride to meet him. we had five days to find a decent apartment in a tint town where neither of us had ever been before. but we got lucky and found a PERFECT apartment. its NEW! infact its so new that its not even finish being built yet!!the builiding is built, but they're adding on three new apartments and we got one!! we had to go through an approval process so they knew we were good people and good for money. but just drop the word 'military' in a military town and you're in! so we got it! it took some pictures with a disposable camera, but i think i forgot the flask button, so they were too dark to develop. so while i was on the train back., i drew a picture. here is the picture i drew (sorry, no 'rawr'ing monkey [This message has been edited by helenbooktrip (edited 06-01-2006).] IP: Logged |

i ask because my sisters and i all have ipods. my sister lent hers to a friend(dumb move in the first place) and she dropped it. it messed up the headphone jack somehow. she called apple and since her warantee was up it would cost her like 200$ to send it, get it fixed and get it sent back. well my dad found this place in montreal that fixes ipods for cheap. like a new battery (which are inside the ipod, and rechargable) replacement from apple is 240$, but this place does it for about 70$. my battery isnt doing so well now i think about it. they're supposed to last a long long time and its some special battery that only ipod uses. anyway!! so i asked if it was an ipod, cause i would have found the address of this place for you to get it fixed cheaper. keep in mind i'm talking in CAD$. Ahh, I see. Well unfortunately, it's not a battery problem. It's the hardware. It makes all these sounds when it's just trying to boot up, like a computer does when it's working on something. Then it gets frozen at the opening screen, and then it proceeds to open in recovery mode. So... yeah... I think it's just dead. IP: Logged |

WOOOOO!!!!!! Ok, sorry for the momentary lapse in exclamation point rules. So I just had a phone screening with a company that may be interested in hiring me! It's this company called Naked Juice, and their nationwide, and they're all about making all-natural juices. And they're looking for an event services manager to help coordinate promoting their products at appropriate events, and they might want me!!!! YAY!! I hope I get chosen for an interview!
