Scarecrow! ARGH! I totally forgot i hadn't replied to your email, i am SO sorry, i read them and am like "yeah, ok, lovely, i'll reply in a mo" and then i just assume i have... because why would i not just reply as soon as i've read it, how silly. Sorry. To all Fforde readers out there: The Eyre Affair is first book right? And should i read Jane Eyre before i read it, because i can't be bothered to be honest, Austen, or Bronte, or whoever wrote Eyre really isn't my bag. If i jump to "Something Rotten" do you think Fforde'll mind? IP: Logged |

quote: Aw! You're going to read Fforde! That just makes me happy! You definitely don't have to read Jane Eyre first, in my opinion. I didn't and I was just fine. Missnikk may have a different opinion. But, yes, The Eyre Affair is first, then Lost in a Good Book, then The Well of Lost Plots, then Something Rotten. I would suggest reading them in order because things do correlate between them. IP: Logged |

Great, that's good then. But will not reading Jane Eyre be a problem, because i'll gagging to start reading it - seeing as i bought it being unsure whether i should read it due to my book-purchasing obsessive compulsive disorder. IP: Logged |

Hey! Have you by any chance gotten an email from me today? Because I wrote three emails and haven't gotten any responses from any of the three recipients, now I'm worried they never got to their intended readers... Let me know![This message has been edited by PlantANote (edited 05-23-2006).] IP: Logged |

I know this is really random, but I felt like this was the only thread I could put this... I'm packing up the majority of my dorm room today. My freshman year is almost over. I'm feeling quite sentimental right now *sigh* IP: Logged |

quote: Oh it's quite alright! I gathered that it was working when Heath responded not too long ago. I was more concerned with the email that I wrote to guy I bought my car from because he hasn't responded... he better not be ignoring me because he still has my car that I've paid for. IP: Logged |

quote: Oh that's a bit vexing, the fact that you handed over the money and you are still short of a car. I'm sure it'll all be lovely though, you've done nothing for the universe to hate you a steal your money, it's fine. How's the hair, still knicker-wettingly gorgeous? So yeah, Scarecrow (and Aelphaba's Afterlife too, where ever you may be) is totally owe to a big, impressive, incredibly witty email to make up for it. I appologise profusely. Seriously. I'm actually really upset at myself for just not getting round to it. I don't wear guilt well, doesn't suit. Sorry. IP: Logged |

quote: You'll be fine! Oh, and seriously, read 'Jane Eyre', regardless of whether it ties in with the Fforde books or not. Not keen on the big dead female authors myself, but 'Jane Eyre' is different for so many, many reasons which I'm happy to browbeat you with until you give in and read it. Hope your evening activity has been better than mine. Never go on a blind date arranged by a well-meaning friend... Oy. IP: Logged |

quote: Hahaha, I never would've said that to begin with but... uh... sure! If you say so! Quoxy sorry to hear about your bad blind date, I've been blessed with never having that experience. Do tell, if you don't mind, what was so bad about it? Usually they're pretty funny stories... [This message has been edited by Plant a Note (edited 05-23-2006).] IP: Logged |

you know what i like? i good vaccuum cleaner!! all my life i have been cursed with crumby vaccuum cleaners! when i worked as a sort of janitor cleaning a family friends office once a week, the vaccuum cleaner SUCKED! (and not in the way that it supposed to ) i have to drag around the big dirt collecting part and the hose end was just crappy! very..unmanageable...is that a word?and then at out old house, we had central-vac! NEVER GET CENTRAL-VAC!! it is such a pain in the bum-bum! but now, seeing as we couldn't bring the central-vac with us to the new house here, we had to buy a new vaccuum cleaner. i am VERY happy with this new vaccuum cleaner! it has different setting for hard wood and carpet and different lengths of carpet! it has a detachable part that you can carry when vaccuuming the stairs! it has all different attachments and nozzles! my favorite is the Turbo Brush attachment. it makes me happy. i am very happy to finally have a vaccuum cleaner that doesnt make me want to jump up and down on it until it breaks and all the dirt goes everywhere!! PHEW! so there you go! some good old, nonsensical (sp?)general chinwagging!! enjoy. IP: Logged |

quote: *feels insanely happy* You'll love Fforde! The Eyre Affair is the first book. I've never read Jane Eyre, and I don't think you really need to. But don't skip book 1, or it will get confusing. Book 2 is my favorite, though it really has no plot. (To quote Fforde: Girl loses boyfriend. Doesn't get him back. The end.) Oh, GSD. I love those books. I like Fforde as much as I like Maguire, at least. They're very British-funny. You'll adore them. Check his website out, too, after you've read them. PaN, have you been there? It's excellent. aw, i'm sorry i left you PaN! i just have to get my days work done. dont want to let my dad down, ya know? i mowed the lawn, had lunch, been doing laundry all day, cleaned the floors (not done yet), and i still have to get all the wallpaper off my walls (from the people who lived here before...its a border around the top walls and it had fairies and flowers on it. not ugly! just not what i would have chosen...now that i am 21 years old and not 8. )but soon, i am going to watch Oprah because Elie Weisel is on and they are going to visit the concentration camp he was in. i have yet to read the book. i am almost done the davinci code (SO GOOD! i already saw the movie..so the end is kinda ruined. but the book gives all the detail. the movie can't do it so well. but the movie was GREAT and you should all go see it!). once i finish davinci code, i will start reading NIGHT right away. anyway, i go to fold laundry and make tea!! *gives one lollipop to PaN as an apology for not being on the boards very much today and one more lollipop, again to PaN, to make her feel better* IP: Logged |
