Awww Heath. *hugs*

You shouldn't feel bad about buying yourself things. You're a person too. It's your money, enjoy it. And hey, everytime you look at that iPod (thingy) it's not going to be "oh god, four hundred and thirty bucks" is it, it's going to be "this iPod cheered me up, aww, it's my happy iPod" and then thou shalt be happy. You see how it works, it made to happy once, it'll make you happy every time.

Ha, and also, i can't take that song lyric seriously, apologies if this spoils 'The Magic', but there's this play, with a line in, where this woman says "Piles, though your arse is aching" it's most crude, but funny, and that's all that i can think of whenever i hear that song... piles... lovely...

*goes away*

*hugs first*

Don't feel bad! You're awesome.

Okay so there she is at Christmas time, it was my idea to put the snowflake on her head. She hadn't been groomed for awhle at that point in time which explains her dirty face hehe

Here she is looking quite sad...perhaps she was hiding under the bed because the vacuum was on?

And then just a random one of me and my best friend of 11 years

Ahaha so cute!

I don't have any baby pictures handy, but I have got to rant here... months ago I signed up to do the title sequence for a short film. All well and good, right? Other Person wants in on it. Great! Then, two more want in on it! Woo, we have a TEAM!

Before the project gets started, one of the boys admits he's in over his head. This is acceptable, we're working for free and he let me know before I thought he'd be doing work for me. Leaves me, two others.

I get back from Chicago. Two weeks to deadline time! Which is an acceptable length of time to produce fifteen seconds, if not more so. Pre-production is done, I did it all - character designs, storyboards, communicating with the guy who asked... so. I reminded everyone it had to be done. Other Person wigs out and expresses discomfort, but doesn't say she cannot do it.

Okay, so we split the work thusly:

Me: 12 seconds, character animation, backgrounds, compositing, editing

Other Guy: 10 seconds rotascoping [tracing filmed footage, quite a tough job to do well actually]

Other Person/Girl: Three seconds, uncoloured, no detail, I'd be doing the clean up and colouring.

She's late with it. Deadline was MONDAY. Me and Other Guy were WELL on time. Aggravated. So I get an extension from the dude. It's for tomorrow. Today, she hands me three seconds of pretty much unusable stuff, and NOT what I asked her to do! She doesn't listen! AAAARGH.

So. I am redoing it. It's due to be rendered tomorrow. Give me strength. *stabs*

That really sucks Vim. I can imagine how irate you are. That's one of the reasons I never liked group projects. Someone always ends up not pulling their weight and the others are left to pick up the pieces and pull it all together. I'm sure you'll be able to pull it all together however pissed off you are about...because you have too, right? People just suck sometimes. Good luck! Let us know how you do with it. May the swartz be with you.

Wow, sorry about that crazy stuff...

UGGH!!!
Forget it. I don't know why my pictures won't post right but I give up for now.

I don't know what the problem is. I'll have to figure it out later. I was trying to post pictures of my dogs. Oh well. "Another game, another day"

try just deleting them from your photobucket album and uploading them onto photobucket again. i was having photobucket trouble today also. you can also make your pics smaller on photobucket by clicking EDIT above a chosen picture.

hah. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww such cute pictures. Okay, honest to goodness, you do. not. want. to see my childhood pictures. From 1- 4? I looked terrible. I have 3 (I think) scrapbooks filled with hospital photos of me and my brother with tubs hooked up to us, IV's through our arms, I looked like a reason.. though when I was 5 I was rather cute... Then I turned 13 and it all went downhill again *Heh* but seriously... you don't want to see me as a baby. / first baby rant.

second rant: anyone seen PROOF? with Jake Gyllenhal and Gwenth Paltrow? Great movie, also has Anthony Hopkins in it - anyway they were going to film it in my house... now I'm angry they didn't. /rant.

First question: Did you mean "raison" instead of "reason"

Second question: So if they had used your house for the movie...what exactly do you and your family do while they're filming? It may be a dumb question but I'm quite confused.

ha ha!

i saw this show one where a movie was filmed in a lady's house. i think the movie people payed for her hotel. so basically, she had to leave her house while they shot the scenes that her house was needed for.

there are people who make thier houses so they can accomodate movie crews; nicely decorated, lots of open space for equipment, all that stuff.

Saint A...you must have a pretty nice house then!!!

edit: it's SHOT..not SHIT!

Okay! Sorry these are so humungous but I had no idea how to fix that, even after editing the size to make them smaller. So if you can bear to look at them, the first one is my 4 y/o beloved dog, Baxter and the second is Holiday who we just got on Sunday.

Yes it does, although if you use it with the verb 'avoir', it takes on the sense 'to be right', so 'vous avez tous les deux raison' = (lit.) 'you have all the two reason' = 'you're both right'...

Here endeth the lesson from the book of French according to the GCSE examining board...

*GIGGLES* HAHAH.

Helen, I find that hilarously funny that you said that because every single person whose dropped me off, carpooled with me, or anything of like always says when I point them at my house:
"Wow. That's big."
me: "yup, told ya."

Has anybody seen the movie "Mirrormask?" The screenplay's by Neil Gaiman and some of the character creation and stuff was done by Jim Henson's studio and it's totally bizarre (though I think that's a bit redundant as I've already mentioned Gaiman) but kind of fun to watch.

So. How many of the weirdos here have watched it?

I don't know if many/any of you know this song, but it is awesome, it's called 'Return to Oz' by the ScissorSisters, and it's awesome. Very scary. Very Pink Floydian.

Once there was a man
who had a little too much
time on his hands.
He never stopped to think about getting older.
But when his night came to an end,
he tried to grasp for his last friend
and pretend that he could wish himself health on a four-leaf clover.

He said: Is this the return to Oz?
The grass is dead, the gold is brown
and the sky has claws.
There's a wind-up man walking round and round.
What once was emerald city's now a crystal town.

3 'o' clock in the morning,
You get a phone call from the Queen
With a hundred heads
she says that they're all dead.
She tried the last one on, it couldn't speak, fell off
and now she just a-wanders the halls
thinkin' nothing, thinkin' nothing at all...

She says: Is this the return to Oz?
The grass is dead, the gold is brown
and the sky has claws.
There's a wind-up man walking round and round
What once was emerald city's now a crystal town.

The wheelie's are cutting pavement
and the Skeksis at the rave meant to hide,
deep inside their sunken faces and their wild rolling eyes,
But their callous words reveal
that they can no longer feel
Love or sex appeal.
The patchwork girl has come to cinch the deal

To return to Oz, we fled the world with smiles and clenching jaws
Please help me friend from coming down
I've lost my place and now it can't be found

Is this the return to Oz?
The grass is dead, the gold is brown
and the sky has claws.
There's a wind-up man walking round and round
What once was emerald city is now a crystal town. (x2)

It's on their album that goes by the same name they do. If you can find it, get it, even for this one song, it's that good.

It's terrifying! Anything that refers to the Skeksis from that creepy muppet film 'The Dark Crystal' strikes fear into my heart. It really is one of the wierdest, creepiest films ever made, made worse by the fact it's all Jim Henson creatures enacting it.

I agree. But 'Dark Crystal' is freakishly wierd cubed, at least. Because these muppet-type creatures DIE in it. And the Skeksis drain the brains of these small potato-faced muppets to get their 'essence'. And one of the muppets, called Olgra has one eye that she can pull out on a whim. And there are these huge, hollow, marauding beetle soldiers. And at the end the Skeksis are resurrected as huge, benevolent, light-giving gods. And there's this walking, growling toupee called Fizzgig. And I saw it when I was about eight and very, very ill in in hospital and, my God, this stuff isn't suitable for kids at all.

'The Dark Crystal' is fantastic from the point-of-view of some amazingly accomplished puppetry (and don't forget this was in a time and a land long before the horror that is CGI), and I suppose it does have a more cerebral, engrossing story than a lot of puppet flicks...it's just it is a bit trippy and more than a little scary. When you're ill. And eight.
