Ha, that'd be our love Acey. Well, he's not technically "in charge" but he definitely is the most accurate! IP: Logged |

Can you ask him to do one (he called me a slut last night, so I'm not sure if he's on [virtual] speaking terms with me!)? I'm curious to see what I'd look like if Walt Disney had thought of me first. So long as it's nothing ghastly like Cruella de Ville or the creepy demon from the Moussourgsky bit of 'Fantasia', of course. IP: Logged |

Serverley Editied: Ok, scrap my first attempt, it sucked big time... but this isn't getting any better, ok, let's try this one, but i'm still not happy with it: becomes... You are seriously tricky Alex, it's unreal... originally you were Pepe le Pew, but that seriously wasn't working. I don't know why you seem to French though, odd. I'm still not done with this one. quote: Hahahahaha! I nearly fell of the chair laughing. Both because I apparently look like a singing gay French candlestick, and because you fancy the candlestick! I do like John Smith and Tarzan too, although I don't think I'd get away with that loincloth he's got on. I suppose Lumiere is nearest to me in personality (God, now I'm depressed!). Thank you so much, Acey, it's the best laugh I've had all day! Remind me again who you are, cartoon-wise. I scrolled back, but could only find a picture of Snow White! Oh, and in the interests of redeeming your candlestick-fetish, have you ever seen 'Dogtanian and the Muskehounds', the European dogs-as-the-the three Musketeers cartoon? There's a spaniel (Aramis) in it that's worryingly 'tasty' for an animal cartoon character! Be ma guezt, be ma guezt, put ma servisse to ze tezt... Whair did I poot zose matchez. I need lighting... Ha! Oh i am glad. And i do recall the The Muskehounds, and the Spaniel geezer... he doesn't really do it for me, but, you know, whatever floats yours. The only cartoon charater i've ever really fancied is Jessica Rabbit... and John Smith actually, thinking about it, (really, what self respecting animator calls a pseudo-historical character John Smith? How banal), and the Beast when he hadn't quite finished transforming yet, he weren't bad... Ok, enough, weird. And apprantly the jury is still out on my cartoon character, some have said Aladdin (er..), some have said Peter Pan, (er...) I personally think Beeker from The Muppet Show. *shrugs* IP: Logged |

King of Quox Member |
Beeker? The ginger pipecleaner that gibbered incomprehensibly? We've got to do something about your self-image, boy! I suppose Aladdin's the nearest out of the ones you've mentioned, but I'll have a look at your picture again, and see if I can come up with anything... IP: Logged |

quote: "Quoxy" is definitely better than "KoQ"! And no, I know he isn't. He may have his hand in front of his face in that photo, but you can see he's no Beeker. Anyway, if I've got this right he's at drama school training to be an actor. They don't let un-pretty people train to be actors. It's the law. i vote peter pan. but as for the whole John Smith thing, i believe his is named after a real guy who came to america by the name of John Smith. IP: Logged |

quote: You're quite right, he is. Havne't seen the Disney film, but he ended up trading with the Powhatan Confederacy and had a friendhip with Pocahontas. The only record of it is his personal account which he wrote some years after the events, so it's not that reliable. Smith did a flit, but Pocahontas eventually came to England with her husband, John Rolfe, and did see Smith again briefly, before her untimely death on the ship bound back for Virginia. Sad, huh? yea... its been said that they most probably never had a relationship of any kind. i think the move "The New World" is said to have a more accurate portrayal of stuff IP: Logged |

OK, Acey, I've been thinking about this on and off for most of the day when I should have been doing the things I'm paid to do! They're not exactly the route I was going down, and they're kind of symbolic (but a whole lot more flattering to you than Beeker from the 'Muppets'. I'm having trouble importing the pictures onto the message, so you might have to click on the link, or if someone can find a way of transferring them here, that would be great. http://fp.culttv.plus.com/ukculttv/kultkidz/mrben/mrben1.jpg http://img52.photobucket.com/albums/v159/farthingwood/fanart/ffoxfanart01.jpg Hope they work, and you're not too appalled! quote: He's Mr. Ben, beloved kids' cult TV figure of millions of English generation-X-ers. I recall Acey mentioning his bolwer hat on several occasions. The other one is from a slightly more obscure Eueopean TV cartoon, 'The Animals of Farthing Wood'. I'm afraid I was being a little...er...saucy with that one. Heath... wielding a weapon... parallel universe where everything is evil and wrong! I doubt he'd ever forgive himself if he hurt someone physically, or otherwise actually, but he does have a biting sence of linguification in him... he has eloquence and he's not afraid to use it, not that he ever would to harm anyone. He's a saint, you'd love him, he'd love you... *gets paranoid* I can see where this may go. Mr. Ben scared me, there was something very sinister and subversive about this man, who was a civil servant, yet never went to work... onto to, for some reason, a dressing up shop to try on clothes worn by other people. There was key swapping and gimp-slave parties going on in that steet. But Animals of Farthing Wood was my programme as a kid, was so stupidly obsessed with it, it was so awesomely cool. IP: Logged |

quote: Oh. My God. Me likewise. I'm a bit older than you, but I remembered reading all the books when I was at primary school, so watched quite a few of the cartoon episodes, which seemed to have a very high mortality rate compared to the books! Mr Ben is a bit creepy. My friend did the stage play of the cartoon, and they were given a script for an (unaired) episode, where he ended up going to prison. They should have called it 'Don't Drop the Soap, Mr. Ben', or something. And don't worry, I won't try to put you and your lovely husband asunder. I'm sure I couldn't if I tried! IP: Logged |

quote: My over-active imagination is highly visualised. Thus, that was disturbingly unhealthy, for both me, and Mr. Ben. "And there's the Shop-keeper, as if from nowhere." Evil and wrong. Evil and wrong. And that cartoon... on stage... just no... Woman in Black would we like a walk in a meadow. IP: Logged |

quote: Or the Bottom Bitch's Top? I can see him in the laundry room, sniffing/stealing the other inmates pants. Mr. Ben's sick, he should see somebody... even though i'm the one inventing it, he's quite apparently the one with the unresolved issues with his father IP: Logged |
