Hey Friends, Just want to see how everyone is doing. What are you plans for the holidays (whether it's Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, whatever)?

just heard about a book that i thought everyone might be interested in. I've never read it, but saw it on itunes.

Hey Helen!

I am going back to my parents' house on Friday for a few days. Jo is going to her parents'. It's not the best, we would rather be together, but my family is unfortunately not accpeting enough to do that.

This week is going to be a very busy one - I'm quite excited about it!

We're also having another Christmas on December 30th with loads of friends coming over for a meal and lots of drinking. Can't wait!

despite having to be apart from Jo, it sounds like you have a fun holiday plan ahead of you. always good when there is food and drink.

Helen, this is exciting. More details please! What is happening?

Also, let me know when you might be in Ireland, coz we're supposed to be visiting Jo's mum at some point this year and she lives there.

Assuming I am not in Madagascar. Did I post about the Madagascar thing? Bah. Exciting/confusing.

Oh nothing much is happening with ireland right now... it's an idea i've been playing with for a while. it's a big IF... if i can't get the time off. if i can come up with the money. if my friend is open to the idea of going around ireland with me. it's all depends on many things. but i will definitly keep you posted.

I can't believe how far down this topic was!

I have something exciting which actually happened in August last year but I never told you guys and you're just about the only people I know who would appreciate it.

Jo's brother's boyfriend is a comedian. He's not particularly famous but I expect he will be soon - he's just starting to do various TV things. Last year, for the first time, he did his own show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was all about musical theatre (I totally loved it and understood all of the references, which clearly most of the audience didn't).

Guess who came to see his show one day?

ANTHONY RAPP.

Oh my god. Can you imagine?! Apparently the Rappster loved it. Even though he was in some of the jokes!!

I never really speak to Jo's brother's boyfriend, unless we happen to be in the same place. Not that we don't get on, we just don't speak independently, IYSWIM. But he rung me because I was the only person he could think of who would appreciate what had happened!

So... there you go. Thought I would just share that.

(I think the heat has sent me a bit mad today - we were out all morning marching for Women's Day and I haven't recovered yet!)

so, I found a deal for a refurbished iphone 4S 16GB for only $60 with a 3-year plan. it was an online-only deal, so i got the stuff into my virtual cart and went to check out. not working. try again, still not working. i decide to call the service provider before i end up accidently buying six iphones. so i call them and it was long, frustrating phone call which tested my patience every second. good news is that the dude on the phone gave me a NEW iphone for the same price. so it should arrive by courier next week. hopefully nothing wrong with set up or the phone plan after spending a full hour on the phone today. phew... what a process!

BUT, that's really cool Helen.

Any idea if the deal would be good in the US too? I kinda need a new phone, pretty bad.

Supposed to be seeing The Avengers tonight. Honestly, I am not nearly as interested as I thought I would be. But, I don't think we'll be able to go anyway, as it's not playing until 7 and that's an hour from home. Since my hubby has to be at work tomorrow at 4AM (also an hour away from home), he really wouldn't get any sleep to speak of.

Anyway, don't care if you spoil me or not... as, I just can't get excited for it but how IS The Avengers? I'm sure plenty of you have seen it by now.

OMIGOSH THE AVENGERS IS AMAZING!!! I don't really like comic books, so I thought I wasn't going to like it, but it was really good! Esp. Captain America, lol. He's... er... nice.

It was really funny and the 3D was good, which is more than I can say for a lot of movies. (Disappointingly, HP 7 part 2 was one of them.)
