Oh yeah...If anyone has not read the Grimmerie I would suggest you to read it. My parents got me that for my birthday a few years back, and it was signed by a bunch of the original cast and directors...including IDINA!!!!!! Its amazing. The book is great and gives awesome "behind the scenes" info.

READ IT! You won't regret it.

Wow, fiyero, I think you win the award for most posts in a row.

I own the Grimmerie, I do so love it. Even holding it. I feel special. I love seeing the process of how they put the musical together, changed parts, wrote music... that's what I would love to do. Someday you'll see a musical with my name all over it.

Not that you would know it was me... seeing as how I don't use my name here.

Owen Wilson...where are you getting these names from? Carrie Underwood? Not so much.

Has anyone else read the Grimmerie? If so, what did you think? If you have no idea what I'm talking about please ask...I don't want any Wicked fans to miss out.

I think it would be hard to make a movie of wicked because the musical is a lot different then the book, and also in the play glinda is more like a dumb blonde, and in the book shes more of a popular serious girl

No. I totally agree with you. I love the musical to death but I'd LOVE to see a movie out of the novel.

Oh and if they did make a movie of "wicked" (which i really hope they don't)...but if they do, they better not use any stupid celebrities to sour the beautiful story who can't sing or dance but will only bring headlines to the movie.

What's the grimmerie? (I hope I spelled that right.) In the book isn't it a book of spells or something (well she also said that she didn't understand all of it though since it's in a different language.)

Sorry to say that I'm way more into the musical, so I'd be rooting for that. But either way Wicked needs to get out there, its such a great story.

The Grimmerie is this awesome "behind the scenes" book. It basically goes through the process of transferring it from the book form into the musical. Stuff like writing it, sets, costumes, the actors/actresses, and some other stuff. Great pictures, really interesting. (If you like the musical at all) "Wicked: The Grimmerie" Text and Interviews by David Cote...in case you wanted to check it out. My dad found it for me because it was signed by a bunch of the cast and writers, but I'm pretty sure you could go to Barnes and Noble.

And yeah, it is also the name of the spell book the Elphaba reads from. Enjoy!

Do you even know what your posting? UNIVERSAL STUDIOS owns the rights to Wicked. Thus, they are the only ones that could make the movie. It WILL NOT be out in 2008. They are too busy bringing the stage show to Germany and Japan. It could take 5-8 more years to actual get a movie screen play adapted.
This topics has gone on for what seems likes three years. If we are going to continue it can we actual gets the facts straight?

How do you love wicked and not know the Grimmerie? Ai! Anyway, in the book and musical its Elphaba's spellbook and shes one of the only people with the power to translate it. She transfers it to Glinda at the end of the musical, and Glinda now must learn to use it. In life, the Grimmerie is the book taking you behind the scenes of the making of WIcked, cast interviews, pictures, lyrics, etc. It the key to the Wicked Musical

First of all, I would love a movie Wicked, there is a recording of the play, though I haven't seen it yet.

I think Jonathan Rhys Meyers would make a wonderful Fiero and Jason Isaacs would make a good wizard.

There has been talk about a WICKED movie, but it won't happen for a couple more years. Apparently they only do musical movies when the musical itself isn't making as much money as the producers would like.
That's the only bad part about WICKED being such a good musical. That, and tickets are so expensive!

But so worth it! The musical is amazing onstage and there is no way that hollywood will ever do it justice. So...
